Overview & Responsibilities

The IDLO Ukraine Country Office, situated within the Department of Programmes, maintains the central management and coordinating function for the delivery of the IDLO programmes in Ukraine.  Under the supervision of the Field Programme Manager, the Legal Analyst will support the Programmes in Ukraine by providing legal support expertise across a broad spectrum. 

 

The main duties of this role are: 

 

1. Participate in the work of the officially established Working Groups tasked with providing technical assistance to the members of respective Vetting and Selection Commissions, through collecting, reviewing, analyzing, validating, storing and managing information on candidates’ compliance with the requirements of professional competence, professional ethics and integrity; 

2. Ensure efficient cooperation and timely exchange of information within the Working Groups; 

3. Collect and process relevant information, including but not limited to the information concerning the conformity of the expenses and property of candidates and their family members with the declared income; 

4. After reviewing respective dossiers and considering other relevant information, draft tailored (individual) integrity questions to the affected candidates so that potential issues with professional competence, professional ethics and integrity can be clarified; 

5. Collect and analyze candidates’ written responses to the individual integrity questions; 

6. Based on the information contained in candidates’ dossiers and their written answers to the individual integrity questions as well as information gathered by the Working Group or received from third parties, including but not limited to state institutions and civil society organizations, produce candidates’ personal profiles to be submitted to the members of the relevant Commission; 

7. Assist the Commission in organizing competition stages such as testing, interviews, practical assignments; 

8. Perform other tasks as assigned.  

 

Job Requirements

  • University degree in law  
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in the field of judicial and/or anti-corruption reforms / initiatives 
  • Understanding of the relevant legislation  
  • Experience in legal drafting 
  • Communication and analytical skills  
  • Research skills  
  • Ukrainian proficiency 

Terms & Conditions

For this locally recruited contract IDLO shall offer the selected candidate a Single Engagement Contract.
