The IDLO Ukraine Country Office (CO), situated within the Department of Programmes, oversees the central management and coordination of IDLO programmes in Ukraine. The CO seeks assistance with photo and video content creation to support and communicate IDLO’s work in Ukraine.
Under the supervision of the Field Programme Manager, the Photo and Video Content Creator will assist the Programmes in Ukraine by contributing to the creation of consistent, professional, and engaging visual materials that effectively and accurately communicate the progress and results of the IDLO-supported project activities. All the material produced under the contract remains IDLO’s property.
The primary duty of this role is to participate in the work of the officially established Working Groups tasked with providing technical, expert, and logistical assistance to the Selection/Vetting Commissions, through the following activities:
• Participate in pre-agreed team meetings and briefings to align on objectives, key messages, and visual style.
• Develop short shooting plans, contribute to scripts or outlines for video clips, and shoot lists for photography sessions.
• Visit or assess filming and photography locations to plan lighting, sound, and framing.
• Capture high-quality video footage (interviews, b-roll, event coverage, field activities, etc.) in FHD or 4K resolution, ensuring proper lighting, framing, and sound quality.
• Capture high-resolution photographs (portraits, events, thematic scenes, behind-the-scenes) suitable for social media, publications, and reports.
• Ensure visual consistency.
• Edit raw video footage into finalized video clips of agreed duration, incorporating graphics, captions, logos, subtitles (English/Ukrainian), and simple animations as needed.
• Perform colour correction, sound balancing, and other post-production improvements of videos to ensure professional quality.
• Select and edit the best photographs, applying basic retouching, colour correction, cropping, and exposure adjustments.
• Prepare final photo and video outputs in the required formats and resolutions, optimized for social media and web use.
• Provide all raw materials (video, photo, and audio) and project files upon completion of each assignment.
• Ensure all deliverables meet quality standards and are submitted within the agreed deadlines.
• Cooperate closely with the team throughout all stages of production, incorporating feedback into final outputs.
• Proven experience in photo and video shooting and post-production (minimum 3 years).
• Demonstrated portfolio of similar visual products (e.g., interviews, event highlights, social media videos).
• Advanced skills in video and photo editing software, including Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Photoshop, and Lightroom (or equivalent).
• Experience with colour correction, sound editing, and subtitling.
• Knowledge of motion graphics or simple animations is an asset.
• Own professional video and photography equipment (camera, lenses, microphones, lighting, stabilization tools, etc.) and valid software licenses for all editing applications used.
For this locally recruited position, IDLO shall offer the selected candidate a Single Engagement Contract.
